well i think all these f1 circuits should've been made to race in the same direction as f1 cars do. that goes without saying already.
and the sliding factor could've added excitement in the game to see if u could make it. this logical sliding possibility being the same for all the players. given enough laps there's very little chance left for luck and one can't blame his loss on bad luck in the original version
anyway it's all fine to have an alternative version of the map as well
Nice to hear that. :-) Actually we are not so big fans of wascar... We just like the F1 itself (especially the Maranello based team – Ferrari), so recreating the original circuits is one of the things we really like to do...
Well. I understand that flying the longest curve down is more logical than climbing it. But there are several points why this direction is better for the gameplay.
1) First of all, the original Hockenheimring circuit is one of the most historical venues in the F1 calendar. The drivers then go round the track in the same direction as the wascar players.
2) My first Hockenheimring track (#16736) was rotated, so the curve turned into a slide. As already described this was quite an adrenalin factor but also a factor of luck. In the race it was all about the fact if you just slide the curve after the time runs out or you "drag" your worm manually through the curve down to the hairpin. Suddenly some of the players were given the advantage of super long turns where they slide an important part of the circuit although the time is already gone. Therefore the races were not so tight and thrilling.
Of course I do not force you to drive the curcuit in the given direction. I just say that this direction is better, eventhough it seems the contrary at first sight. :-)
Damn, would be way better if you went the other direction.
Change the arrow from down to up!!
Seriously, look at the map, it only makes sense to go the other direction...
instead of climbing that incline at the bottom you'd be flying down it
